Shipping Clerk

Reports to: Shipping Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


The Shipping Clerk is responsible for ensuring the timely picking, packaging and shipping of product. This position will be a temp to perm role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following. Other duties may be assigned)

  1. Answer department phones and emails as needed.
  2. Stock and maintain finished goods using FIFO.
  3. Complete all needed commercial export paperwork.
  4. Communicate any shipping delays with Customer Service and Shipping Supervisor.
  5. Pick and pack finished goods items for shipment using pick tickets.
  6. Operate forklift to transport shipments to/from the storage area and store material in racks.
  7. Prepare documents, labels, bills of lading and special instructions to route shipments.
  8. Input order information into SAP and carrier databases.
  9. Take part in year-end and general inventory procedures
  10. Participate in the hand unloading of trailers as required.
  11. File and maintain shipping documents as required per SOP.
  12. Maintain an orderly and organized work area.
  13. Must be willing and available to work overtime, particularly at the end of month and end of quarters.
  14. Other duties as assigned from time to time.

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); and one year minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Basic Computer literacy and shipping software experience.

The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.  The employee may be asked to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
